Ethics

SE4S fully adheres to the ethical principles and standards set out under Horizon Europe and the Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions. All research carried out within the programme must respect fundamental ethical values, integrity, and responsible research practices.

All applicants are required to complete an Ethics Self‑Assessment as part of the application process, identifying any potential ethical issues related to their proposed research. Where relevant, appropriate mitigation measures and approvals must be obtained before the research starts.

The programme is overseen by an independent Ethics Committee, which monitors compliance throughout the fellowship and provides guidance to fellows and host institutions. No research activity may begin until all ethical requirements have been fully met and validated.

SE4S promotes a strong culture of research integrity, transparency, open science, and responsible innovation, in line with European and international standards.
